The best support comes from those who are traveling down the same road. Our
support groups allow patients, families, and friends to find a place of hope
and healing. Local physicians, nurses, and healthcare workers come to
educate and inform group members about cancer. Victory in the Valley Cancer
Support Group Chapters are also available in many cities around Kansas,
including one in Iowa
and Illinois. Education, love, spiritual encouragement and support provide a
strong defense in the fight against
cancer. Victory in the Valley has grown from one support group at the
Founder's home in 1983, to 16 groups which meet on a regular basis in
Wichita and throughout Kansas. Groups include: Brain Tumor, Breast
(women only),
Kidney, and General
Cancer Support Groups open to all cancer patients, survivors and supporters.
Meetings are held on a regular monthly or bi-monthly basis with some groups
meeting at night and others during the day. Some groups meet at
Victory House, while others gather at different locations on both the east
and west side of Wichita and in surrounding communities.
